A construction technique that uses steel supports to form the skeleton of a building, steel framing provides structural support for the building and its components. The steel frame comprises vertical pieces, or columns, as well as horizontal girders. Both of these pieces are most often made from I-beams but can also be formed by steel tubes, pipes or channels, which are joined together using bolts, rivets, or specialised welding techniques.
The strength to weight ratio of steel gives this method a huge benefit over other construction techniques. Cold formed sections. Strong and easy to use. Black and galvanised sections available. Cold formed sections are available in a range of angles, channels, lipped channels, and one-sided channels. Thicknesses range from 1.6mm to 3mm and are used in a wide variety of applications such as house framing, trusses, trailers and really as far as the imagination can go.
Steel House Framing is lightweight, heavy duty, galvanised and universal for all applications. Steel House Framing uses three components; Stud, Plate and Nogging. Plates are used for the top and bottom of your framework, studs are your vertical uprights, nogging is a mid section to hold all these together. These components can be welded, screwed or pop-rivited together.
Top Span Battens are used as an alternative to purlins where strength and limited size is required.

LYSAGHT® Purlins and Girts are lightweight structural steel members, designed in accordance with the AS/NZS 4600: 1996 Cold Formed Steel Structures utilising high strength zinc-coated steel.
LYSAGHT® Zed sections may be used over single spans, unlapped and lapped continuous spans in multi-bay buildings. Lapped continuous spans result in considerable capacity increase in the system.
LYSAGHT® Cee sections may be used in single spans, and unlapped continuous spans in multi-bay building and are ideal as eave purlins or where compact sections are required for detailing.
